Course Aims

To provide all those who work in community safety with the tools to problem solve.
To provide them with the practical skills to carry out site surveys with underpinning knowledge of relevant legislation and security products.
To provide an understanding of legislation that impacts on the role of community safety/crime reduction/prevention.

• Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000
• Freedom of Information Act 2000
• Site Survey and real community case studies
• Presentations – Media guidance
• Community Safety Working
• Guest Speakers - Locks & Safes, Media Skills, Fencing, Crime Stoppers, Counter Terrorism, Graffiti removal/litter, CCTV & ANPR and Smartwater.

Qualification

The Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) Paralegal Vocational Qualification.

Assessment

The completion of an assignment / work based project in 2000 words to be submitted in 8 weeks from the end of the course.
